Eye Makeup Tips: Eyeshadow Palette
The Eyeshadow Palette
Create your own Eyeshadow Palette
Most women start buying eyeshadow individually and before long end up with using just a few colors. It's the 80/20 rule in action. We tend to use 20% of the makeup we purchase 80% of the time. We use 20% of the clothes we own 80% of the time. So is there a case for breaking this 'law'? Well considering how small the eyeshadows are it's easy to see why we tend to gravitate toward using just a few favorites. Those small containers get shuffled to the back of your makeup drawer and you forget all about them. Or maybe you got tired of filling your purse or makeup case with a dozen or more different eyeshadow colours. It's easy to do. The solution - make your own Eyeshadow Palette. That way you will have all of your colours neatly arranged and easy to access. It will inspire you to try more colour combinations especially when your in a makeup rut. A nice and neat eyeshadow palette is an inspiration in itself.
All you need is a shallow box, preferably made of wood, but sturdy cardboard will do too. One quick Makeup Tip I discovered was to use an old serving tray/box I had lying around. You can pretty up your palette by painting it or stenciling it. One of my girl friends just got a Cricut Machine (she's really into crafts) and did a beautiful job of decorating her homemade palette box. Having your own eyeshadow palette saves a lot of space and makes it much easier to find the eyeshadow that you need and want to try. It's a lot better than rummaging through your makeup drawer and sorting through the dozens of little eyeshadow containers you've accumulated. I keep my palette with eyeshadow colors I use most often (browns, blacks, whites, and pinks on the top two rows so they're easy to get at with other colours below that I want to experiment with from time to time.
Now the alternative to making your own is to just throw out all of those old eyeshadows you've collected and invest in a nice Eyeshadow Palette from your favorite cosmetics manufacturer. Below I've presented a few Eyeshadow Palette Reviews to help you in your shopping. Be sure to leave your comments and suggestions about your favorite Eyeshadow Palettes below!

I've gotta laugh - you got me! I've got what seems like about 500 eyeshadows in my makeup drawer. Good idea - I think I even have an old tray that would be perfect for this. Likely though I'll just bite the bullet and use it as an excuse to go shopping this weekend!
